What do you like to paddle in the sea, and why? Fish form or Swede? Hard or soft chines? Rudder? Skeg? Kevlar or plastic?

Just bought a Wilderness Systems Tempest 170 plastic recently. Taking it out for the second run tomorrow at Pillar Point, and it's maiden voyage in the SF side of the SF bay seemed fine.
